I am only related to the Mangums by marriage. Ransom Sutherland of Granville County and then Wake County was the father of Rebecca that married Mr. Mangum. Ransom Sutherland was a Col. in the revolutionary war. I have heard of Pleasant Mangum, but don't know anything about him. I appreciate your help in trying to get to the Mangum group. Hope you enjoy Northern VA. I was born and raised in Roanoke and went to college in Harrisonburg. My father's ancestors were from Augusta county.
