Daniel Cox married Mary A. Walton in Jan 1836 in Wake Cty., NC. Any information about parents or siblings appreciated. Mary eventually wound up in Alabama with her children in the 1880 census. Lost track of Daniel in 1850, shown with family in Phillips Cty., Ark. Any help would be appreciated. pat
Suddenly, with the arrival of the year 2000, this seems like more ancient history! Francis Perry and wives 1. Mable and 2. Sally and their children are my first provable Perry ancestor. I continue looking for any data to support the "tradition" that he was one of 7 Perry brothers who left the home of their father, a Phllip Perry, and came to NC, obtaining land grants from the Earl of Granville. I have been told that they had to have money to get these grants. His son, Sion, was in the Revolution, and then moved to Sumner Co., TN. Later he was heard from in Habersham Co., GA. We do not know where Sion and wife Bartheny Arundel (Arendell, even Arnold) died, but sure would like to know. Sion's record has been used by many to enter the DAR. Sion's sons included Ransom, Ducalion A., Albert George, and Sion L. Perry. Sion L. went to Tuscaloosa, AL. Ransom went to Indiana. Ducalion and A. G. came to Washington Co., TX, then a part of Austin's First Colony in TX. Relative Burrell Perry also came here, but was not their brother. Through these ancestors, we would be eligible for the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. I now live in Washington County, either by coincidence or a part of a divine plan! I have found the grave of Ducalion Perry on private property, and the graves of his wives. I am interested in any more information on any of these Perrys and their relatives. Many of their descendants live in Chappell Hill, TX, and in nearby Grimes County, and possibly in Austin and Waller Counties. I have more information to share on the descendants. Here are the children of Sion Perry, and his wife, Bartheny: Descendants of Bartheny Arrendel Generation No. 1 1. BARTHENY3 ARRENDEL (THOMAS2 ARUNDELL, RICHARD1) was born 1763 in Wake County, North Carolina, and died Abt. 1821 in probably Habersham County, Georgia. She married (1) SION PERRY October 07, 1782 in Wake County, North Carolina, son of FRANCIS PERRY and MABLE. He was born Abt. 1760 in Wake County, North Carolina, and died Abt. 1821 in probably Habersham County, Georgia. Children of BARTHENY ARRENDEL and SION PERRY are: i. CHARLOTTE4 PERRY, b. Unknown; m. Looking for any information on descendants of Benjamin Davis who died in Wake Co 1802. Wife Hannah died ca 1816. They had six children: Isham, Sherwood (my ancestor), Aaron, Benjamin Jr., Jonathan, Rebecca (md. John Coker/Crocker). The first 3 children left Wake Co. ca 1790 and went to Oglethorpe Co. GA. Benjamin named one grandchild in his will, Joseph Davis. Witnesses to will were Tabitha Sneed, Mark Joplin and Allen Mobley. Executors were Hannah Davis, Mark Joplin and Allen Mobley. Hi Homer, Do you have any Prince's marrying into the Rhodes' family? Verbal family history says that Jonathan Rhodes, my gggrandfather, was married to a lady named Jane Prince. The only references I have found to his wife show her as either Sarah of Elizabeth.
