    2. Hi everyone - I have been researching for past 12 years the following Wake Co. family lines; Edwards, Marcom/Markham, Sears, Sugg, Woodward, Wilson, Lowe, Olive, Womble, Howard, Sorrell, Young. My earliest brick wall - My inability to identify the family name of Delana ______, first wife of Bartley G. Sears. They married ca 1844 (no written marriage record) and had following children; Cynthia who mar. (1) James A. Marcom & (2) William Carpenter, Celia who mar. James Warren Edwards, William G. who mar. Laney H. Marcom. Pleasant B. who mar. Nancy C. Whitehead, and Rose/Rosie who mar. Lorenzo A. Morgan. I believe Bartley G. Sears was a grandson of Barbee Sears of Chatham Co.. Can anyone help me with this problem? I'm willing to share research findings. Robert O. Edwards

    1. Roll Call - Benjamin Davis
    2. Melissa Kitchens
    3. My Wake Co. ancestor was Benjamin Davis, b ca 1743, died 1802 in Wake Co. NC. His wife was Hannah (maiden named unknown) who died abt 1815/1816. They lived in New Light District, on the Mill Branch of Horse Creek north of the Neuse River. Their neighbors were the Joplins and Mobleys. Benjamin's children were : Isham Davis, who md. Sally Edwards in Oglethorpe Co. GA; Sherwood Davis b 1767 who md. Laurany Campbell Watkins in Oglethorpe Co. (probably widow of Benjamin Watkins, s/o Reace Watkins); Aaron Davis who md. Priscilla McElroy in Oglethorpe Co.; Jonathan Davis; Benjamin Davis Jr. ; Rebecca Davis who md. John Coker/Crocker between 1802/1810. Benjamin also mentioned a grandson in his will, Joseph Davis. Isham, Sherwood and Aaron left Wake Co. abt 1791 and moved to Oglethorpe Co. GA. I've reached a dead end on this family and would appreciate any assistance whatsoever. The earliest record I have for Benjamin Davis is in 1765 when he purchased land in Johnston Co.,! NC. Melissa Davis Kitchens Oxford MS

    1. Roll call -- Warren, Dawson
    2. I am searching for information on Catherine Warren who married Isaac Dawson on 3 March 1823 in Wake Co., NC. Bondsman was William Moore. In 1840 census, Catherine Dawson is listed as head of household: 1 male, 15-20 years; 1 female 30-40 years. In 1840 Tax list, she is listed on Houses Creek with 254 acres, valued at $254; o pols; 4 slaves. I would like to determine who the male in this household is and what became of Isaac. This Isaac Dawson may be related to the Moores as an Isaac Dawson was a bondsman for a William Moore's marriage to Elizabeth K. Alston 27 Jan. 1823; and for a Lemuel Moore's marriage to Elizabeth Warren on 6 Jan 1823. Or Elizabeth may be related to Catherine. Catherine Dawson married Daniel G. Rencher 24 Feb. 1841, John M. Fleming, bondsman. Rencher apparently by this time was living in AL. I have info on Rencher and Catherine after their marriage, but it does not address who the male was in her household in 1840 or anything about her previous marriage or her family. Thanks very much, Teri Oaks
