    2. I don't live in Union County, although I did travel through there once. My ancestors, the Bakers and Lowthorpes left the Lanes Creek area of Union/Anson County by about 1870 and most moved to Tennessee. Having a devil of a time unraveling all that went on the first few years after the WAR. People disappeared. Land changed hands without records. Folks must have died and no records of when nor where, but I keep asking and searching and many of you have been incredibly generous with your time and information. BTW, I've chosen to live in Huntsville, Alabama after a military career which had me living in or temporarily "visiting" 47 of the 50 states and territories and 18 or so foreign countries. db
