Hello, My name is Sharon Tomlinson and I moved to Union County from West Tennessee along with my husband and three children in June 1998. Only about three months after moving here, my sister called me and told me that our mother's family was from Mecklenburg County. After during some research, I found they were from what was Mecklenburg but now is Union County. I have visited the Heritage Room twice and found the ladies there very helpful and congenial. I very much appreciate all the work that so many volunteers have done here in Union County. I have met eleven "cousins" via the Internet who are researching our families. One of whom plans a trip here the last week in March. We plan to research during her stay.
