Joy, Twelve mile creek is in the SW corner of Union Co, near Waxhaw. It stretches from the Catawba River in Lancaster Co, SC to close to present-day Wesley Chapel and Mineral Springs. Something you may want if you don't have it already, is the 1907 Union Co Tax map for sale throught the Heritage Room. Although the date of 1907 is later than you're probably interested in, it would still be beneficial because it shows the old creeks and rivers, churches, schools, towns, gold mines AND the landowners in 1907!! I have noticed that many of the families stayed in the same areas through the years. The map measures approx. 22" x 24" and is suitable for framing. I have one framed and then one dry- mounted that I use for research to make notes on. If you're interested in ordering a map: 1907 TAX MAP OF UNION COUNTY $3.12 ($2.12 plus $1 P & H) ORDER FROM: THE HERITAGE ROOM, PO BOX 397, MONROE, NC 28111 For a list of other books and items for sale pertaining to Union Co., go to the site for the Heritage Room - Books for Sale: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncunion/sale_list.htm Good luck!
