    3. Hi Bud, Crawford is the only one that connects that may be from NC. I figure his family moved to SC Pickens area when he was younger. Or perhaps he left a family in NC when he was younger. Or possibly maybe he was an illegitimate son of Nicholas. Crawford's sons were named George Washington Medlin, Andrew Jackson Medlin (twins)B: 1853 (they showed up age 7 on the 1860 census) then came Sarah Ann Medlin b:1855, then Joseph Benjamin Medlin b: 1856, then Anderson Columbus Medlin B: 1858. Crawford was married to a Eliza Hughes B: ca 1830...she died. Crawford then married a woman named Reynolds....Then Crawford enlisted in the Civil War.....word came that he was dead and the woman left the children and went off with another man. the children were farmed out to other people to be reared.......That's what I have.... I am trying to find Crawford's mother and father.....sisters and brothers..... any help anywhere would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for any information. 1. [NCUNION] Need your help
    2. Hello Family Members: I have not had the opportunity to talk with many of you for some time. Now, I need your advice, knowledge and just what to do about the wonderful problem that I have been given. Next spring, probably in April, my son is going to host a trip to England for me. I have never been to England and it will give me the opportunity to seek out information on the Weddington family. What I am looking for is "how to do this correctly in order to gain the most information that might be available". I am aware that some of you have taken this trip previously, or you possibly have already been provided with information that will help me. I need to know the following, if you can provide it for me: What to look for Where to go to get the best information in the least amount of time I need addresses if you can provide them, such as cities, buildings, etc. Do you know names to contact on the Internet that could help. Are there e-mail addresses that I can go to for help. I expect to have about ten days to "look" - how much can I accomplish in that time. Of course, anything I can find will certainly be shared with all of you. There is one big question that I will seek - Who was the Father of William I. I will be indebted to all of you for any help you might provide. As always, I appreciate all of you. Warm Regards, Bill Weddington ([email protected])

    2. Cynthia H. Porcher
    3. Mathias BEAVER,1792-1877, was my GGGGgrandfather. He was raised in Rock Rest, NC, which I understand was/is in Union Co. Mathias Beaver married Elizabeth Blakeney, d/o John Blakeney, Jr and Nancy May. They were married in 1815 at Spring Hill Church in the community of Tradesville in Lancaster Co, SC, by Esquire Hanccck. The Church was a log cabin. After their marriage they moved to Chesterfield Co, SC near the Blakeney lands. Mathias Beaver fought in the War of 1812. The BEAVER name was originally BIEBER when the family emigrated from Germany to PA. Those who stayed in PA geneally kept the German spelling; whereas those who moved south used the English translation BEAVER. Is anyone researching this family? Would love to find the parents and siblings of Mathias Beaver. I have a great deal of data on the Blakeney family. Here is a family group sheet. 1. [NCUNION] Hartt (Hart) Descendants in Union Cty
    2. Hello: I am looking for anyone who can give me current names to contact in Union County (on the Net, of course). My G/Grandfather married an Elizabeth Hartt on 29 April 1849. He was John C. Weddington. They are both buried in the Philadelphia Presbyterian Church cemetery in Mint Hill. There original home was supposedly "near the old Weddington Road and U.S. 29". Although I was born and raised in Matthews, I left there just after High School and do not remember much about the area. I have developed my Web Site for the Weddington Family, but have never been able to find accurate info on my G/GF and Elizabeth Hartt. My aim now is to try and find a Hartt family member and trace my Grandfather that way. Any help is most appreciated. William (Bill) Weddington

William Sanford Skipper in Mecklenburg Co., NC. Only thing I ever knew was that *all Daddy's people were from Union Co., NC*. I always presumed they were of English origin. Now, that is way before I started genealogy. He never heard of any Native American linkage and there is suspicion that some of the Skipper's were Native American as well. Don't even know my own family............Janie Kissiah m. John H. Skipper and had William Sanford Skipper. How can I forget that I'm the one with 3 Sanford's in my line.?????? JOY
