Thanks, Gerald! Anyone have a Mary Stegall daughter of Walter Stegall and Cora Alice Stegall who married John Broome. I have an obituary from my great papa Ellis McKinley Stegall. It mentions a sister as Mrs.John Broome of Monroe, NC. I have been told by my grandmother she was Mary Stegall. The pallbearers were Carl,Louie, and Junior Broome, Hiram, H. C. and Broughton Stegall. I found some of these names in union county 1850 census. In the household it lists. Jonanthan Broome..age 46...Farmer Mary Broome, wife... age 46 Ellison " " ...age 20 .....Farmer John Broome....age 15 William Broome.... Age 15 Hiram Broome...looks like age 2 Jason Broome ...looks like ae 2 also Horgan or Morgan Broome.... age 1 there is lots of Helms and Presley, and Preslar Family in the same district does anyone have these names.
