I was wondering if some would be kind enough to lookup a Ogburn family in the 1860 Union Co., NC census. It may be Mecklenburg but pretty sure it is Union. Queen Ann Miranda Ogburn born March 18, 1852 in South Carolina? She would be 8 years old... Duh... Thanks in advance, Chris Reeder Florence, SC http://creeder.taylordata.com/

My grandfather Richard Allen was from Chesterfield SC and later moved to Union Co. NC (Marshville) . His father was Robert (Bob) Allen who married Emma. I have not started researching this family as of yet so I have limited information. This line of Allens are African Americans. I am trying to identify the parents of my gr gr grandmother, Millie Hagler (or Haigler) (1795-1873). From looking at the census of 1790 and 1800, I believe it was most likely Philip Hagler, but I would llike proof. She married my gr gr greandfather, Deberry Austin (1795-abt. 1872) probably in the 1815 time period. Can anyone help me with this "stone wall"? Merry Christmas to all: And thank you Randy for the work you have done on the Union County page, have enjoyed it very much. Check this site, some of you have been there, this is a small mill town just across the river from Charlotte. I started taking my kids thru here in the 50's, then my grandkids and last week went up and took my great grandkids thru, this seems to get the Christmas spirit started in my family. Ooffspring I am researching the Osborn (various spellings) families of NC. For the moment the focus of my interest is John Osborne, who appears in the 1850 census of Union Co. page 286: John age 76 farmer b. NC; Sarah, 65 b. NC; Malinda, 35 b. NC; F.M. 26 male, b. NC; Azgell, 24 male b. NC; GRIFFIN, S.C. 6 male, b. NC; Emily, 1 b. NC Is this the John Osbone, s/o William who formerly lived in Mecklenburg, Co.? Thanks ooffspring@juno.com
