Anne, Thanks for such a kind offer! Would you please see if you have a marriage record involving Josiah Williams (1829-1871), who married about 1854. Hi All, I have a list of Union County Marriages from the North Carolina State Library, 1843-1899. Most of the list is of Broom marriages, but there are quite a few other names also. I have been posting them to the new North Carolina Marriage Database, when I have time, but if anyone would like for me to check for someone, I will. Anne
I am happy to be a part of your mailing list and look forward to many e-mails ....hopefully that will assist me in my search. I am researching the surnames: PERRY, NUNNERY, and SANDERS. At this point, I am consumed in finding information on my ggggrandfather Nathaniel NUNNERY who married Rebecca SANDERS. Saundra Nunnery Mack

Hi, how about Susan Godfrey, who married Bunyan Broom, then when Susan died, he married a widow, Margaret (McNeely)Godfrey? I know Randy is connected to Susan, but Margaret was my grandmother, and I don't have her 1st husbands name, and there were 3 children of her first marriage, any clues?? Anne
I don't have further data on J. Roy Godfrey but I do have him listed as the spouse of Velma Lucy Meggs and do show two sons, Paul and James as you indicate. I show Velma's date of birth as 10/3/96 (you show 97), her date of death as March 1987 in Charlotte. This data was furnished me by my cousin, Mary Marshall Nash, granddaughter of Ida Meggs Nash and was copied from a family bible. Doug Norwood -----Original Message----- From: Robert E. Lowry was born June 15,1778 in Anson Co.,NC. Her parents were Mary Temperance Jane May and John Paul Rushing. I am not sure of all of Mary's names. Carolyn
Hello, My name is Sharon Tomlinson and I moved to Union County from West Tennessee along with my husband and three children in June 1998. Only about three months after moving here, my sister called me and told me that our mother's family was from Mecklenburg County. After during some research, I found they were from what was Mecklenburg but now is Union County. I have visited the Heritage Room twice and found the ladies there very helpful and congenial. I very much appreciate all the work that so many volunteers have done here in Union County. I have met eleven "cousins" via the Internet who are researching our families. One of whom plans a trip here the last week in March. We plan to research during her stay. Our family surnames are: STEVENS, ABBOTT, PHIFER, FINCHER One cousin has a site that contains much interesting information on Emanuel Stevens. If anyone should happen to be interested the address is: http://www.cei.net/~halvis/stev_fam.html Sincerely, Sharon Tomlinson

This is in response to Dawn's query to Randy about Martha Godfrey. Martha Godfrey King is in my Godfrey line starting with James A. Godfrey. Randy and I both have ties to the Waxhaw Baptist Church, but haven't to-date been able to tie our lines together. But I'm confident that one day, we will Please get in touch so we may exchange information. Phil Brown
