Perhaps as a Helms researching the Helms line, I can be forgiven for asking. (grin). My Sampson D. Helms was born in Mecklenburg (now Union) County in 1824, parentage uncertain.     2. I don't live in Union Co. I live about an hour and a half south in SC. My HANEY family left Union Co NC in the 1880s for Union Co. AR, but I'm happy to say I have made contact with quite a few relatives in NC thru the list.

    3. I have McCorkles married into my Bivens line. Patrick W McCorkle, b Waxhaw 1795, s/o James and Hannah McCorkle, is one of them. Patrick married Unity Bivens, b 1797 Anson Co, d/o John and Gemima Crockett Bivens. There were married in Mecklenburg Co.on 15 Sep, 1815. I have some info on their descendants. I have entered in info from tons of people from this list as well as the Helms book. I have a gedcom with tons of Union families. If anyone is interested, I may can see what I have. Names primarily researching are Reeder, Pressley, Baucom, Long, Estridge, Ferguson, Lee, Polk, Garmon, Helms, Price, Blackmon, Whitley, Presson, Simpson, Ogburn, Kater/Catoe, Keziah, Shelby, Curlee, Medlin, Rainwaters, Robards, Brannon, Williams, Cagle, DeBerry, McCollum, Morton, Taylor, Knox, Faulkenbury, Craig, Laney, Welch, Strickland, Allen, Millstead, Jones, Holladay, Corbett, James, and Edwards.
