I have been researching my ancestry (Deaver) for 2-3 weeks now, mostly on the net since I live in Texas and all of the early Deavers are from NC. Although most of my ancestors lived in Buncombe and Haywood Counties, I noticed a historical reference occasionally to a William Deaver House in Transylvania County that was recently restored. One of my earliest ancestors in NC was William Deaver, who was born in the early 1700s in VA, but lived most of his life in western NC until he died around 1805. I found one archaeology page which gave some info on this historic house, but would love more. Does anyone know of any brochures, books, or websites which would satisfy my curiosity?
