Hi Jerry, You've beaten me to the first questions on the census! <G> I'm confused about this, too, because Penetta "(N)itta" was my gggrandmother, except that you're right. By 1870, she had been married for six years to Clifford Galloway. >Also under Gloucester Township #5 is listed as Clifford Galloway married >to Hester. It should be the Clifford married to Pernetta since it is >listed immediately under Eli.However the age is wrong and the wife's >name is wrong.Could Hester be a nickname for Lucretia Pernetta. And here is the confusion. If the Clifford in the 1870 is the son of Eli then the age is off. Not only that, by where are the two oldest sons, Milford and Rufus McKellen (my ggrandfather)? And there is no Catherine in my listing. Maybe she died in infancy. But for sure, Milford and Rufus were older than Mary Jane, the next child in my list of children. I'm thinking that someone else gave this information. Certainly it couldn't have come from Clifford. Just who the dickens IS Hester???? > This question in no way detracts from the hard work that Linda put into >the transcription of this material.Without her efforts these questions >and others which will no doubt arise would not be possible. Thanks for >giving us something to work with Linda. Absolutely right! Philip
