Help! I am confused over some of the data in the 1870 Transylvania census.Under Hogback Township there is a listing#5 for Jesse Owen and Juda.The first two children are Elizabethy and {N}itta.Who is this.It cannot be Elizabeth Jane and Pernetta,as they are both married and having families of their own by 1870.Elizabeth Jane is actually in the 1870 Towns county census married to William Jackson Owen and showing four children at the time. Are these two people someone else,or did either Jesse or the census taker just throw them in for good measure. Also under Gloucester Township #5 is listed as Clifford Galloway married to Hester.It should be the Clifford married to Pernetta since it is listed immediately under Eli.However the age is wrong and the wife's name is wrong.Could Hester be a nickname for Lucretia Pernetta.I am particularly interested in the question concerning Elizabethy,as Elizabeth Jane is my 2nd greatgrandmother.I just can't figure out what she's doing back home with her parents without her children,two years younger and at the same time she is with her husband in a totally different state two years older with her children.Have we expereinced a time warp here.Any and all help wolud be appreciated. This question in no way detracts from the hard work that Linda put into the transcription of this material.Without her efforts these questions and others which will no doubt arise would not be possible.Thanks for giving us something to work with Linda.
