My cousins and I are looking for the roots of a Benjamin Henderson born 1775 in ? VA and showed up in Rutherford NC and married Phoebe McCurry in 1808. He had sons Lorenzo Dow, Nathaniel Howard, William M., and Benjamin Whitfield. Son Nathaniel Howard lived in Cathey's Creek, sometimes in Pumpkintown of Pickens county SC, and raised a large family, but three sons were killed in the Civil War; another son Lafayette Trench was killed by neighbors by the name of Hendericks or Hendrix, and only two sons lived; Lorenzo Dow born 1856 and Elbert Elmore born 1857. There were three daughters: Nancy Emma who married Robert Socrates Orr, Eliza Ann who married Marrett Marr Nickolson, and Margaret Jane who married Samuel Wilson.
