Not quite. The John Owen who got the revolutionary War Grant had nothing to do with our owen problem. Now, Elizabeth Barton did find documented evidence that Thomas Owen was not the Father of this John Owen who we now know is completely unconnected with Western North Carolina. Which means that Thomas Owen & Elizabeth McCurry still could be John's grandparents. We are just back to ground zero on the parents. Never gotten anywhere with Elizabeth Owen who married Issac Glazener.
