    3. This one is a heart breaker. The last family group is that of Lemuel Scruggs. It starts with two graves with broken headstones which leaves only the last line intact. I was able to piece together enough of the first one to almost make it out. The second one doesn't even have the pieces, only bits of the base. I tried everything and every angle to try to read the words without success. But when I moved onto Lemuel Scruggs' grave, the sun just happened to be perfect and made the remaining words jump out. GONE BUT FORGOTTEN Last week an anthropologist from UNC - Chapel Hill asked me why I am surveying the cemeteries This small broken marker says it all The cemetery is listed at http://www.geocities.com/~alextreehouse/cemetery/glazner1.html If any SCRUGGS family researchers can find the name of this child, please let me know. -- Linda Hoxit Raxter lraxter@citcom.net See Indexed Western North Carolina Cemetery Surveys http://www.geocities.com/~alextreehouse related to at least half the county - at least once ; )
