    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nUB.2ACE/880.1 Message Board Post: Claudia, there is a short family history of the Morris family in "The Heritage Of Swain County- Swain County, NC - 1871- 1987" published 1988 by the Swain Genealogical and Historical Society. It lists William Lee Morris, s/o John Morris and Elizabeth Driskell. The article lists all of Wm. and Sarah's children and then lists the children of Hattie Mae Morris and John Alexander McCracken. You didn't state your husband's name. If you send his name, I will see if it is in this family history. Peggy

You might want to recheck it there and see if the poster of the data is listed and compare notes. Perhaps they can offer more information on the family. The spelling of the surname has probably swung back and forth through the years, making it a little harder, I'm sure, to research.

Their lines include Johnson, Teague, Lindsay, Gasaway, Totherow, Grant, etc. And there are a few Kirklands married in amongst siblings, etc...everyone there in Swain/Macon connected somehow, so it's hard not to be interested in others' puzzles. I'm still not clear, I guess, on exactly who you're trying to find. If it was the first name identity of the Pollack married to Samantha Sarah Kirkland, they maybe we've got it. I did not seem them in Swain in 1930, though. So I was trying to get a handle on who you were checking for in the 1930 census, and what ages they may have been at the time. I've had some luck (and do enjoy) finding people whose names have been somewhat mangled on the way to Ancestry.com's indexing lists (though usually their source workers do a wonderful job trying to decipher the census images) and thought I'd help.
