Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nUB.2ACE/883.2.1 Message Board Post: Peggy, Thanks for the information. That could be my Johnsons! My data has been sketchy and mostly from my mom, William Washington Johnson's grand daughter. The information that you sent is very close to my records, and it is possible that some of mine is defective. I will attach a copy of what I have on this side of the family below. Mom gave me all the dirt on William but couldn't give me anything that I could use to track the family. She does tell of visiting the Johnson's in Swain County, NC where her mom (William's daughter) lived. She thought that William was Cherokee but him living in Big Cove could explain that. Other family members have told me that the Johnsons were from Ocono Lufte in Cherokee Co. Do you have any additional information on this family?

Just trying to show you what information I have access to so far. In Dillard's family in the 1930 census is listed Bennie Hall, daughter, age 9, born in the NC. Is this really Grady Bernas Hall, son, you mention in your 21 Nov email? If so, he has a WWII Army record that says he was born in 1920 in Swain Co, NC and a SSDI record. Name: Grady B. Hall SSN: 237-26-7104 Last Residence: 37801 Maryville, Blount, TN. Born: 16 Dec 1895 Died: May 1983 State (year) SSN Issued: TN Also, next door to Dillard's family in the 1930 census is a Amelia Crisp, age 58, widow, born in MO. Is this Ivy's mother? I haven't mentioned that we have a Hall family web site on www.myfamily.com and I will send you an invitation if you are interested. We have Hall family files and pictures on the web site. Surnames: HALL, JONES, MANER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/nUB.2ACE/631.1.1.1 Message Board Post: George, Looks like you are right. Mary was their mother. Using Andrew's name and date, I found the whole family in the 1900 Swain Co, NC census listed as Hall Patent, Mary Patent, Paralee Patent, Dillard Patent, Spwehin Patent and Andrew Patent. I think the census name taker made a mistake and listed Payton Hall as Hall Patent, then all the rest of the family as Patents. The problem is the census film is blacked out after the father and mother's names, so can't get their dates or places but all the children's info is clear. There is a Sam Maner (genealogy@sevierlibrary.org) who has a file on ancestry.com where he has Payton Hall (no dates or place) married to Mary Cemintine Jones with a son Andrew Carl Hall born 17 Mar 1900 (no place) and died 15 Sep 1992 in Blount Co, TN. In the 1920 Swain Co, NC census Mary Hall is listed as Clennie Hall, mother, with Dock, Sperlin and Raymond. I believe this Payton Hall was a s/o Jesse Crayton Hall but I can't find him in the 1880 census. Some Hall researchers have a Patton Hall born in 1873 listed as Jesse's son. Let me know what you think, Don
