Jim, I'm very much interested in exchanging information, I can go through my notes and post my ancestral lines. I'm pretty sure that my ancestor Matthew Mashburn who married Katie Finger was probably descended from Edward Mashburn who was the school teacher at the Chowan Indian school in the 1700's.. I 'm sure that we are related as i'm descended from the Blacks, Thompsons, Mashburns, Crisp, Rogers, Finger, and other families... Re: Josiah Bradshaw Welch, can you extend the line down to your parents' generation, name only, whatever is convenient. I don't have anything for Candus' siblings other than ca. years of birth...Josiah Bradshaw I show being born ca. 1811 in Haywood Co., NC. I found a Candace Stillwell, b. ca. 1873, in my data, dau. of James F. Stillwell (son of William and Mariah) and Mary?, sibling Charles...I had this Candace married to David Ashe (with a note to confirm this), with children John Walter, Scott Allen, Essie G. Also, in the data I have a Wheeler David Lee Ashe married to Drucilla Brendle (another ancestral line I'm working on). Do you have any idea where he fits into the Ashe tree? If you'd like me to, I can send you a report via e-mail direct and you can see what I do have for the Welches...or did I already do that? (It's the pits getting old!!!) Thanks, that does help. I had Candus listed as Cannis E., and no marriage. I also show her born ca. 1861, in NC...do you have a better date than that? I've got to get back to this tree after the holiday, haven't worked much on the Welch line yet, haven't extended the Stillwell end, either. Besides the Welches, I'm interested in one friend's Johnson, Lindsay, Smiley, Teague, Hedden, etc., lines, and another's Gasaway, Grant, Truitt, Totherow, Ramey, etc., families.
