The genealogy group has no plans to do a reprint. She went by Betsy and married Alfred Hensley Ledford, he went by Hensley I believe. According to the census records she would have been born around 1878. They had 8 children: Olly, Birdie(had a stroke and was in nursing home a long time), Minnie(married Walt Cochran), Mandie, Mae Bell, Zeb, Edna, Stanley Ambrose Ledford. I would appreciate any help you can offer. I don't know a lot, Stanley was born in 1907 and married Josie Barker. Minnie was born in 1905. Hensley Ledford, Betsy's husband was born Mar 11,1882 and died Sept 1 1967 and lived in Franklin at the time of his death according to his death certificate she died before him. He had three siblings: Gaston, Will, Ambrose. Hensley's Mother was Cassie Ledford but I cannot find any information on her either. I know they lived in Alarka near Big Creek & Little Creek. I know there are Nations, Cochran and Jenkins in the family but am trying to put the puzzle pieces together. Thank you all for your help!!! Mattie married John Stewart Gibson and had 15 children before she died when the youngest was 22 months old. In the Heritage of Swain County 1987 book on page 274 under item #352 THE MOSES LOFTIN AND SARAH CAMPBELL SHERRILL FAMILY there is the following entry (in part)"About the year 1815, Sarah Sherrill, wife of Jjoseph Sherrill,gave birth to a baby boy in Haywood County. The baby was named Moses Loftin. 'Loftin', as the boy was know, grew to adulthood in the same area in which he was born. He married, November 29, 1838, Sarah E. Campbell, daughter of Mercy Wiggins Campbell and grandaughter of Abraham and Nancy Colvard Wiggins." There were nine children listed.
