I am trying to research my Jacks family history in the Yadkin, Rowan and Surry Counties, according to records, Richard Jacks b. 1713 lived in Maryland until 1756 then he moved to Rowen County, North Carolina by 1769. Richard died 1787 leaving a will. At this time Ann (Garland? or Keen?), his wife, was still living. Both are said to be buried on his land just south of the Yadkin River in what is now Yadkin County, NC. In addition to general gathering information, I am trying to determine where and when their son John Nicholas Jacks Sr., b. 1740 Baltimore, MD and Asenith Martin b. 9/13/1751 Fredrick Co. MD were married. The children of John and Asentih were born in Rowan and Surry Counties and are as follows: Richard Marion Jacks b. 3/14/1772 - married Sophia Barnes of. Surry Co.
