Greetings, I'm new to Surry Co. Rootsweb. I subscribed to SW VA Rootsweb in hopes of picking up information or the trail of one Abraham Low . He was listed in the 1783 militia of Montgomery Co in the area that is now Grayson Co. He is not listed in any other Sw VA records and so must have moved on. I noticed a Lowgap on my atlas, on the border of Grayson Co Va. & Surry Co. NC. Does any one know how or who that gap into NC was named after? Are there any Low[e] families in Surry Co that are known to members of this Roots web ? I'm trying to follow all the leads I can think of. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
