You also might want to look in Yadkin County, at least for the Shore family. Yadkin Co. broke off from Surry County in 1850. Besides the Courthouse in Yadkinville, you might want to check out the public library in Yadkinville. They have a nice little genealogy room. I know there are a couple of published books in there on the Shore family. I am a descendent of Friedrich Schor (later it became Shore) who seems to be the immigrant ancestor of virtually all of the Shores in the area.
