    3. Hello LISTERS, My Line is ROOKS. The names of RUARK/ RUKES / RUKE/ ROOK and variant spellings attributed to sound and spelling of Old, are beleived to be in 1600's and 1700's anscestry. I have a Daniel mar Prudence ? ,/ a son John mar Hannah ?, a son Joseph mar Elizabeth Jackson 1807 in Highland Co., Oh The Jackson's were Quakers and Joseph went with them from Surry Co N C abt 1805?? to Oh . Highland Co, part of ( New Vienna, Oh became Clinton Co in abt 1812. Elizabeth b Stokes Co N C. Joseph b 1782, (as on 1850/60 Grundy Co. Mo census of age and later death ), was not a Quaker but lived around/ with them. He had a known bro. Thomas who also went to Ohio but later went to Ky. It is believed that they may have been there before as Joseph is listed census of 1850/60 as born Ky.. Someone had placed Joseph birth as 1786 in NC and another as 1772 ??? as per Grundy co. on census that he or family filed out these are not correct as 1782 is it there. I am looking for any persons of any of these names in order to establish parentage on the above. They are believed to have come from Md originaly. Anyone who has anything at all on these surnames, I please ask that you contact me and I will help all I can with Rooks imfo I have. How about it descendant cousins out there. Lets team up and gather up our heritage. We have others also. Some of the Counties they are believed to have been and still may be some there are: Surry, Stokes , Bladen, New Hanover, Bertie and several others in N C.
