December 30,1777 & died February 12, 1857. She married Sept. 18, 1794 Samuel Ruffin born Dec. 4, 1773 in Northampton County, NC & died in Edgecombe Co. May 17,1826, son of John Ruffin (d. 1778) & his wife Milisent (???) of Northampton Co. NC Children of Mary Johnston & Samuel Ruffin 1. Esther Ruffin b Aug 7, 1795 d Oct 6, 1802. 2. Wm. Johnston Ruffin b May 19,1797 d Sept 21, 1826/27? he married (1) Jan 15,1824 Felicia (???) d Sept 25, 1824. He m (2) Nov 23, 1826 Martha Fleetwood no issue by either marriage. 3. Cecilia Olivia Ruffin b July 1,1805 d Oct 20,1880 m Jan 20,1828, James J. Horne of Pittsboro, NC issue: Henry Ruffin Horne of Pittsboro, NC b July 7, 1839 d @ Fayetteville, NC Jan 13, 1931. In 1874 he m. Maria Swann Winslow, daughter of Warren W. Winslow. issue: (a) Warren Winslow Horne m. May Dangerfield-no issue. (b) Samuel Ruffin Horne m. Mamie Garrison & had a son: Henry Ruffin Horne of Fayetteville, NC 6. Margaret Huett Ruffin b Apr 6, 1808 d Feb 10, 1837 m. John Barnes. 7. Jacky Anne Ruffin b Sept 4, 1810 d Sept 3, 1844 m.
