Looking for ancestral material on my great-great-grandfather Henry J. Woods (b ABT 1824) Surry County, NC. According to LDS, Henry's parents were allegedly James and Lavina Woods who were married in Surry County. Henry ended up in Spartanburg County SC and shows up on that county's 1860 Census with a relatively large family. He probably moved to SC in about 1845, as his wife was born in SC and his oldest child is 14, also born in SC. After checking the online Surry County census indexes, I can find only two Woodses: a Lazarus in 1830, and a Michael in 1840. I have no idea if they are related.
