My surname interests include the following, mostly folks from the area around Deron on Hwy 268 east of Pilot Mt. to Westfield, up US 52 to Bannertown. I grew up in Bannertown - well, for my first 5 years - then moved to Winston-Salem and now live in the Atlanta area. I spent a lot of my formative years living with my Stephens cousins in Westfield. My grandfather Wm. Henry Davenport was adopted abt 1895 by George F. Davenport and Ellen Vaughn in Bannertown. I'm looking for his natural parents - last names might be Marsh and Proctor (not married!).
