Evelyn, My family lines came from Surry Co., NC but no CHAPELLL's in my lines. Do you have access to any good public library or genealogical society that could have the "Heritage of Surry Co., NC Vols 1 & 2 books that has the family histories of families that lived in Surry? Also, what has helped me very much in my family research, if you have access to the above facilities, look to see if they subscribe to the Surry Co.NC Genealogical and Historical Society and receive the quarterlies and especially if any old quarterlies they may have. Have you checked all the surrounding counties for this last name? Check the census' for this family in surrounding counties. I also have family lines from Yell Co., AR. Just a suggestion or two.
