    1. [NCSURRY-L] Re: NCSURRY-D Digest V98 #18
    2. Hello! I am new to the Surry Digest and haven't yet posted a query. However, this message is especially for <<[email protected]>> who posted message #1 in Volume 98, #18 about Capt William MEREDITH and son James. She wrote: << Captain William Meredith fought at the Battle of Kings Mtn during the Revolution, is mentioned in records of Surry, Stokes, and Wilkes Counties. He was the son of ames Meredith and Mildred Bagby, also of Stokes and Surry Counties. He was married to Ann Bonds and had children. He was married second to Rebecca Keyes Noblett. He may have died in Adair Co. Kentucky, leaving a will but only mentioned two of his children. He stated that his other children had received their inheritances. I am interested in learning more about his children, especially his son James B. Meredith. Any help or information would be appreciated. In 1790 there is a deed transaction for a David Witherspoon in Wilkes Co. that was witnessed by a James B Meredith and Nancy (X) Meredith. I would like to learn who the James B. Meredith is and his wife Nancy. I believe them to be my ancestors who were a James Meredith and Nancy Fulkison (Fulkerson). Any help or information would be appreciated. Marla>> Marla: I assume you have wills of James MEREDITH and wife Mildred BAGBY. Their daughter Mary wed my "uncle" John BURCH, son of Thomas BU Mildred's will: "2 Feb 1796, recorded Aug Court 1796. Will Book 3, page 21A. Will of Mildred MEREDITH. Daughter Mary BURCH to have personalty. Son Daniel MEREDITH to have colt in possession of Edmund HOLT. Sons James MEREDITH & William MEREDITH. Exr: John BURCH & John SHORES. Wits: Wm. N. COOK, Philip COOK. Proved by wits." James and Mildred's children were: - William (born Louisa Co., VA, 1742-died 1810 Surry Co., NC), married Anne BONDS (born 1744, Louisa Co., died Surry Co., 1791). Their daughter was Frances (born 7 Jan 1767 , Louisa Co., VA, died Nov 1829, Newberry Co., SC). I believe Frances wed Dudley BONDS (born 1760, Louisa Co., VA, died April 1815, Newberry Co., SC, PVT (?private) in SC) - James, Jr., a patriot (1778-1820) wed Mary Crews (born 1780) - Daniel (1772-died 2 Feb 1796, wed Hannah COOK about 1765 possibly hanged) - Samuel - M
