Hello; A new subscriber researching my ROBERTS/DAVIS marriage in Surry Co about 1791-3, I would like to connect with a researcher that shares this large family.My direct ancestors were: WILLIAM (BILLY) ROBERTS b) Feb 1770; married MARY ELIZABETH DAVIS B)? (Father; John Davis, Sr.) William was one of the middle children of the 14 born to parents John and Elizabeth Roberts, married in Surry Co in 1755. John Roberts died in Surry County, 23 May 1808; his Will and Deeds and other of the family transactions are avail in the courthouse records. Two of my William's bro's also married Davis girls; Hugh Roberts to Sarah Davis, and Jonathan Roberts to Lucy Davis about 1808; reference to Leonard Davis, a marriage bondsman was noted. I'm certain that the senior John Roberts lived all their lives in Surry County; not so sure about the DAVIS family, but records seem to indicate it. Does anyone in Surry County today, have a Web Page on either of these these families? I have nothing at all on Mary Davis, my gr-gr-grmothr excepting her children's names; John, Justianna, Sarah, William, Eliz, amd James, born between 1793 and 1805. Mary Davis died young, and William re-marrried to Lydia Lewis and moved into Grayson Co VA: they had another large family and their son Jonathan founded Roberts Cove. My ancestor, Mary Elizabeth Davis Roberts, has left behind no birth, marriage, or death records that I can find. Anyone with a DAVIS clan able to share information?
