Susan, Thank you for your reply! I have wondered if she was really a Bagby and if she was from this family. Do you have any documentation for this? I would love to share. We still do not know where Henderson came from. We have done DNA testing, but so far have not linked to any other known lines. Julia Ann was a Bagby, not a Bagley. Julia Ann Bagby b. abt. 1809 is the daughter of Edmund F. Bagby b. Dec 7. 1787 in Wilkes Co. NC d. Sept. 25, 1838 in Gwinnett Co., GA and Anne "Nancy" Martin b. June 7, 1779 in Fluvanna Co., VA, d. Jan. 17, 1850 in Gwinnett Co., GA. Nancy was the daughter of Benjamin Martin & Diana Harrison and Edmund was the son of John Bagby and Elizabeth "Betty" Martin - daughter of Isaac Martin & Peggy -surname unknown. Isaac Martin and the Bagbys had been neighbors in Halifax Co. NC before moving together to the Wilkes/Surry Co. NC area. John Bagby's brother William Bagby is my ancestor. William Bagby and his wife Sarah Phillips (first husband Moses Woodruff Jr.) lived in the Jonesville area of Surry Co. which became Yadkin Co. as well. John & William Bagby and his family were members of Island Ford Baptist church I believe and are mentioned in the church minutes. My great-great grandfather Abner Bagby, William & Sarah Phillips Bagby's son was a Methodist minister and had his own church - Union Methodist, which no longer exists. He lived near Star Peak, near Jonesville, along Centre Rd. I know that Rev. Henderson Cheek is an enigma - back when I was researching the family, no one knew who he was or where he came from - jhas anyone ever found anything about his parentage?
