    3. Hi, everyone, I am trying so hard to comprehend how a LEWIS line (but NOT that of William Terrell Lewis, the famous one in Surry Co., NC) connects to our HARRIS & FRANKLIN lines in Surry Co., NC. What we know so far on our own line is this: John FRANKLIN married Sarah "Sallie" LEWIS of Oldtown [then in Surry Co., but now in Forsyth Co., NC.] We know that John Franklin was born between 1751 & 1759, and that Sarah was somewhat younger. John [aged bet. 70-79 om 1830] died in 1832, and Sarah died a couple of years after that "upwards of seventy years". They had children: Edith "Eada", Mediann, Sarah Vinia (Lavinia?), Leanna "Leah", William Lewis, Patience, Alcie D., and Charity Lucinda. Edith "Eada" Franklin, the oldest daughter of the above couple, married our Silas Harris in 1801 in Surry Co., NC. Elkanah Lewis [apparently Jr.] sold land to our Silas Harris in 1804 in Surry Co., NC. I know that Lemuel Lewis married Valinda Poe in 1827, and that Alphius/ Alves Poe married Nancy Lewis in 1828, both in Surry Co., NC... Does anyone have proof of the parents of any of these persons? Does anyone have any good documentation on the will of Elkanah Lewis, Sr.? Or anything more that might help identify our own Lewises? Any help or clues on where to next look will be appreciated. Thanks! Pam pamstone@cfl.rr.com
