This is a list of the membership of the "Pleasant Run Church" at McFarland's Creek in Monroe County, Kentucky 1827-1844. It is from a publication by Eva Coe Peden and sold by Gorin Publishing, and reprodueced here with the permission of Sandi Gorin of Glasgow, Ky. Many of these families had roots in Surry county and hopefully many will recognize familiar names. This church was located in the far southeastern corner of Monroe county, near an area known as "Turkey Neck Bend" where the Cumberland River makes a sharp, brief turn westward. These families lived in Monroe and Cumberland County of Ky, Jackson and Overton (later Clay) County of TN. dismissed means transferred to another church. these are usually people leaving the area. Excluded means dropped from the church membership. Those listed as dead had died sometime previous to 1844. No date is given, though. some of the spellings are rather unususal!
