    1. [NCSURRY] Benjamin Augustine COOK, born c.1820, North Carolina
    2. Timothy D. Cook
    3. Greetings All, I am looking for any information on a Benjamin Augustine COOK. We have several birthdates for him ranging from 1810 to 1825. He was born in North Carolina, tradition has it in or around the Raleigh, Wake County area. He was married to a Mary Ann Jackson TUCKER. There is a marriage record for an Augustus COOK and a Mary Ann TUCKER who were married in December of 1841. They had a total of fifteen known children Benjamin and Mary Ann settled in Booneville, Surry County(latter Yadkin County) where he operated a blacksmith shop. The ledger books for his blacksmith shop were kept by a Joseph COOK. Benjamin and Joseph jointly owned land in the Booneville area. Joseph was the known brother of a Robert Henry COOK. There is no known relationship between Benjamin and Joseph or Robert Henry, however it is believed that they are some how related, as yet nothing has been found. In 1869 he purchased some land from a W. A. Poindexter. He sold his land to a T. L. Blackwell in 1883. He dies in 1885 near Wichita, Kansas. Most of his children went out to Kansas. The only son who stayed behind inn North Carolina was a William COOK born 1 October 1848. I know that this not much to go on but we have been looking for many years for anything. We have been in contact with a descendant of Joseph COOK who also has been unable to show any relationship between Benjamin and Joseph. They have also not been able to find any record of Joseph or Robert Henry before they turned up in the Booneville area. If any of this looks familiar please let us know.
