I would like to share and compare Covington families. My Covingtons are found in Pittsylvania County, Va, Rockingham County, NC, and Stokes County, NC. My g-g-grandfather, John Anderson Covington, was born in Rockingham County, NC, in April 1818. He was the son of Joseph A. Covington and UNKNOWN. Joseph Covington migrated to Rockingham County, NC, from Pittsylvania County, VA between 1810-1820. He is found next door to Mary Covington, widow of John Covington who died in Rockingham County in 1818. John Anderson Covington married Sarah Pulliam, dau of William Pulliam of Henry County, Va in 1839 at the home of her father. Some have listed her IN ERROR as Sarah Williams.
