The 1759 Tax list of Rowan Co includes what is now Stokes Co. would listers please send me ( [email protected] ) any of their ancestors who are on this tax list AS WELL AS WHERE THEY LIVED PRIOR TO STOKES (ROWAN)? I have a feeling that my William Halbrook did not move to Stokes by himself, but have no way now of knowing who he may have moved with. By knowing other family origins from the 1759 tax list, it may help with his origins, which are apparently Maryland, where his apparent grandfather and uncle lived, or Westmoreland Co VA where his father moved and died in 1752.
