Per Chapter 94 of "The Hertage of Stokes County, North Carolina - 1981", the history of the Lawsonville Community dates back to the 17th century when Moses Amos Lawson and his bride Elizabeth Bradly moved there. Their first son, Joshua, was born in Sept. 1790. In the 1920's the Smith and Campbell Post Offices were combined and the Lawsonville Post Office was formed. Hope this helps, Ned Lankford
