Hi All, Was wondering if anybody is researching the Childress Family of NC.I am looking for a lady that came to Jackson Co TN mid to late 1800's Her name is Mary Childress she came with 2 kids one name Minnie Childress and Jim Childress Minnie was born 11 Nov 1878 d. 17 Sept.1953. I dont know which Co in NC she came from. It is told that a man name John Childress followed Mary to Jackson Co TN around 1900. Mary told her kids To call John Childress uncle Jim. John told Jim Childress that they were kin to a lady called Sara Polk.Have been looking for a connection to NC for a long time. Maybe someone out there can help put me in the right direction.
