    1. RE: [NCSTOKES-L] Friedland Moravian Cemetery
    2. Jette
    3. Thank you all for your help and suggestions regarding my query. I just spoke with someone at Friedland Church. She looked up the information they have, and they don't have anything on Daniel Robbins. They have Phebe Robbins, husband Daniel, but that is all. She suggested that either Daniel's headstone was one that was not legible when they surveyed the graveyard (since he died before 1850), or Daniel may be buried in another Moravian graveyard. She suggested that I check the Old Salem archives. So the search goes on, Jeannette

    3. Hello, Does anyone on the list have access to "The Graveyard Register of Friedland Moravian Church, Forsyth County, NC"? I'm looking for some dates for the birth and death of Daniel Robbins. He died before 1850 (according to the 1850 census). My information says that he is buried there with his wife Phebe (Teague) Robbins. They were married in 1815. Or would anyone have any further information on this Daniel Robbins? Thank you, Jeannette Schleigh [email protected] http://www.jettestream.com

    1. [NCSTOKES-L] Lucy Ellen LINVILLE DOUB b. ca. 1860
    2. Elizabeth Harris
    3. James O. LINVILLE married Eliza Jane BODENHAMER 17 Dec. 1858, Forsyth Co. NC. In 1860 they are age 22 and 21, respectively, with a daughter Lucy E., age 1/2. James Linville died in November 1863 of typhoid fever (obit. in the _People's Press_) In 1870, Lucy E. LINVILLE and 10 and Phebe J. LINVILLE age 8 are living with John H. STOLZ and his wife Alice (maiden name CRAFT). In 1884, Alice Craft Stolz wrote her will (probated 1887, Forsyth Co.), naming her foster daughters Phebe Jane LINVILLE and Lucy Ellen DOUB. Who did Lucy marry? I can't account for her in a pretty extensive DOUB family history. And when did Eliza Bodenhamer Linville die? Can anyone else fill in some details on this family for me? 3. Ron, that reminds me that I had a lot of new material online for some early Stokes families, particularly those that may have come into Stokes Co. from Warren, Granville and Bute Co. My page is primarily Pegrams but I have 9000 + connected names. I would LOVE any additions. http://www.patch.net Nola [email protected] http://www.patch.net

    3. Rosalene, I have a copy of Marriages of Stokes County NC 1839-1887, only one Peter Smith was listed Peter Smith age 50 and Mary Tucker age 30, License # 229 23 Apr 1887, Stokes County. I also checked NC Marriages Early to 1800 but did not find your Peter Smith. I also have bonds for Surry, Wilkes, which are surrounding counties and did not find this bond. Ratcliffs NC Taxpayers shows Fidlers, Leinback, and a Christopher Smith all in Surry Co about 1760-1770. I know where he was in 1860 and afterward. I will be very grateful. Thanks, Hazel

Bonnie <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnstewar/genkin.htm">Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness</A> http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnstewar/genkin.htm Forwarded Note: There is a new website that I think everyone will find facinating. Its called "Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness." These are volunteers who will video cemeteries or homeplaces, or do lookups in the counties where they live. I think that this could be one of the best ideas to come along in free genealogy research yet! http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnstewar/genkin.htm Please pass it along to fellow researchers.
