Hello list, I am curious, does "Carolina Scots" only cover costal North Carolina, or could other counties be included? I am trying to find out more about my LASHLEY ancestors; so far I am only able to trace them to Orange and Caswell counties. William Madison LASHLEY, born Orange Co. 1805, married Mary Elizabeth Pendergrass (Prendergast) in Caswell Co. 11 Oct. 1838. Her sister Elizabeth married Powell Lashley, possibly William's brother. In the will of George Prendergast (1851), father of Mary and Elizabeth, William and Powell's last names were LESLIE, which I believe to be the correct surname and the origin of the bastardization - LASHLEY. I have worked on this line for a while with no success. Would appreciate any insight. Thanks so much, Alicia
