Lynda Smith, our county coordinator for Cumberland County NCGenWeb, needs to turn this site over to someone who has more time to devote to it. Lynda has done a terrific job on this page, and I know she'll be a tough act to follow, but I'm hoping I can find someone who can meet the challenge. Cumberland is an important county in NC history, so this site gets a lot of queries and discussion. If possible, I would like the next county coordinator to be someone who is actively researching ancestors there and is familiar with the local records and names.
