Would like to communicate with descendants of Alexander Torrey PURCELL (1808-1882) of Robeson County, North Carolina. He married Harriet Newell Turner McINTYRE (1817-1896) on February 9, 1837 and they had the following children: Mary Eliza (1838-1900; married Dr. Daniel SHAW); Charles Alexander (1840-1914; married Martha McKellar Lane WILLIAMS); John Edwin (1842-1921; married Margaret Cornelia McCALLUM); Caroline Amanda (1845-1914;married Archibald McLEAN); Harriet McIntyre (1849-1904; married James Dickson McLEAN). I am preparing a history of the PURCELL family and would like to update the material on this family found in "Lumber River Scots and Their Descendants" which was published in 1942. I am also trying to locate a photo or painting of Alexander Torrey PURCELL. Thanks for any help offered.
