    3. I am interested in information on 3 McGregor families who may have come to NC from Scotland and later moved on to TN. I do not know if they are connected, but suspect they may be. William McGregor and possible brother John McGregor of Northampton Co., NC May have married sisters Sarah and Mary Flowers of NC (daughters of Ransford Flowers). Came to NC after the Prince Charles Rebelion. Of William I have: This William McGregor came to this country from Scotland after the Prince Charles Rebellion. He was appointed Colonel of the Militia by Gov. Johnson of NC. Because William McGregor refused to take the oath of allegiance to the Crown of England and actually "rejoiced" when the British were defeated, gov. Johnson had to stand trial for his decision. (source: Colonial Records of NC; book 4 - pages 926, 931, 933, 937, 938, 940) Rev. William McGregor of Montgomery Co., NC - I believe now Stanly Co., NC (born in Scotland most likely) Don't have good birth dates for this man. *William McGregor ("Magreger" in the deed) bought the land on 01 July 1778. *Signed a petition in Feb. 1779. *Listed as having 500 acres of land on tax lists, 1780-82. William Bartlett McGregor or Bartlett McGregor also of Montgomery Co., NC. Moved his family to Stewart Co., TN. May have been bornin Montgomery Co. NC. Possible parents are William McGregor and Ann Flowers or I have also seen his father listed as William Bartlett McGregor and Margaret (unknown). Any leads or information would be appreciated. Willing to share all I have about their descendents and connect you with others researching these lines. Also interested in any information about the Flowers families which might connect with the Flowers mentioned. Ransford Flowers was either from VA or NC. Father may have been Henry Flowers Jr. Brother - David Flowers. Information I have on these families may be mixed together as often happens and I am trying to sort them out to see who belongs to whom and how they may be related to each other. Thanks AmyAnn
