My GGGrandmother, Elizabeth SIMMONS was born in 1824 in Greene County, NC. On her death certificate it states her parents were: Demsey SIMMONS & Mary (MOORE) SIMMONS. On 13 February 1843 Elizabeth married Samuel Thomas CLAYTON in Lawrence County, Illinois. Sam and Elizabeth Clayton finally settled in Washington Township, Green County, Wisconsin and had eight children: b. 1847 May 3 Mary Emline Clayton who married Anton BAUMGARTNER b. @1850 Sarah C. Clayton who married John Wesley BAILEY b. @1854 George Price Clayton b. 1860 Aug 21 "Libby" Clayton who married Jacob BAUMGARTNER b. @1863 "Nettie" Clayton who married a LINCOLN b. @1865 Samuel Thomas Clayton b. 1868 Oct 25 William D. Clayton who married Samantha LEWIS b. AFT 1870 Myrtle Clayton who married a BRAY I have not been able to find any record of Demsey & Mary (MOORE) SIMMONS in Greene County, NC.
