We discovered today that in 1768 - 1770 a group of Scot Highlanders were put at Homochitto, 30 miles east of Natchez. They established a community there and called it New Scotland. Is anyone familiar with this? Any suggestions on how to learn more about these Scots? We found a 1780 census for Homochitto that listed a CUMMINS.
