    3. Well, then, I think somebody better get their history books back out. WE (THE SOUTH) DID LOSE THE WAR, no matter what form you want to use to justify it. I, personally, lost 12 members of my family in the Civil War, and they were all Confederate soldiers. I would LOVE TO ADDRESS THE OTHER ISSUES YOU HAVE EXPOUNDED ON; HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR IT!! If one does not have an understanding of history then genealogy is nothing more than names and dates. But I suppose some people only do genealogy to prove they are related to some famous person, and not delving into the history of those that came before us and really trying to learn about the individual. Last I checked there were Scots on both sides of the issue. Just as there were Scots on both sides of the Revolution, and the War of 1812. Lets see were there Scots in the War with Mexico, and WWI, WWII. How about Scots that fought against the Indians? Right or wrong is a personal opinion and not factual history. Genealogy is history, IMHO. Glenda
