C. (1754) and on to Montgomery Co., N. C.? Their descendents (my line) went to GA. abt. 1820 or so. I'm ASSUMING (not shouting just emphasizing) that they might have come up the Cape Fear River to Fayettesville (Cross Creek) and then down the Cross Creek - Pee Dee Road. There was a Cochan working in the land Office in Wilmington about 1750ish. 2. Doug Purcell
    3. Vic, please reconsider serving as editor of Argyll Colony Plus. It is too valuable a publication and needs to continue. I know that you have had some health problems and it would be understandable if you took several months off. At least postpone making a final decision until you can give this some more thought. I am surprised and disheartened that many of the 160 people who received a free copy of Argyll Colony Plus have not joined. We members need to do a better job in talking up the North Carolina Scottish Heritage Society. It has been very beneficial to me in my research. And you have been a willing helper to me and many others. I will write an article for Argyll Colony Plus on my return from Scotland. I could probably have it to you in October or November. it will break some new ground as far as the Purcell family is concerned as I will try and correct some of the errors, mis-statements and mis-interpretations found in "Lumber River Scots" and "Carolina Scots" as well as a few other publications. Focus will also be on the Gilchrist, Malloy, Munn, McKay, Graham and Torrey families. In fact there may be a series of articles on this subject if space permits and editorial review is favorable. Vic, I will understand if your decision is final but I hope you will reconsider. Please don't let Argyll Colony Plus die.
