Hello Jerome Tew, I have noticed that you have some info on the Gainey line in Sampson Co., I'm looking for Edna Gainey. I know that one married Moses Westbrook and they moved to Al.,I think. There was another one that was younger. Bartholomew Gainey was the father of the Edney that married Moses Westbrook. In Bartholomew's Will he list Edney Westbrook and son-in-law Moses Westbrook. Also a Polly Thornton as a Dau-in-law. grandchildren one as Edney Lee. Do you know who these two ladies were married to and who their parents were? On Edmund Ganey Will dated 11 Mar. 1791 prob. 10 May 1791 he list sis- Edney Ganey ( who md. Westbrook) and a Samuel Buckhanan who a debt to, a debt to Jean Hill. Witness by Bennett and Francis Hill. I sure they all connect to my husband's line, although I can't find much info on them. His line has Westbrook, Hudson, Thornton and Hill. The farthest I have got back is John Hill born 1790-94 married Edney ( unknown) born 1800 married ca. 1815-20. The name Buckhanan is passed now in three geraration as first name, which leds me to think maybe Edney's last name was Buckhanan. There was a Jean that was married to a John Hill who died around 1790 or so, there in Sampson Co., Not sure who this John Hill was. Do you have any info on Buckhanan families and Gainey that might connect to a Hill line? I know I'm running wild with this but thought I would throw all my ideas out to see if it ran a bell or you could let me to a book to check or if you know of someone tracing this line.
