Ben, I have found the following sources you may want to follow up on. Fleet Cooper, Jr. Obit This was included in several postings on the Cooper Forum by Martha D. Schell; all made 4/15/2001. To see more, go to the forum and do a search on schell. Religious Herald, February 22, 1828, pg 27. "Died, in Sampson county, NC, after a few days' illness, the Rev. Fleet Cooper, in the seventy-ninth year of his age. The deceased had been an advocate for the doctrines of the cross in the Baptist church for fifty years, left behind him an unblemished reputation, and died in the full assurance of a glorious immortality. 'Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, for the rest from their labors and their works do follow them." Fleet Cooper, Sr. Rev War Info According to Revolutionary War Records of Duplin-Sampson Counties by Virginia and Oscar Bizzell, Fleet, Sr. served as Material Aid - Patriot Services during Revolutionary War. You should check this source for info on Fleet, Jr.s participation. I think he probably did since both his older brother, John, and younger brother, William, are cited in this source as having served. I would appreciate it if you would share any further findings on these topics with me.
